加拿大中文電台 FM96.1 是隸屬亞洲以外最具規模的中文傳媒機構--新時代傳媒集團的多元文化電台，一星期7日，每日24小時於溫哥華廣泛提供超過20種語言的廣播服務，包括華語、韓語、烏克蘭語、波蘭語、菲律賓語、柬埔寨語、匈牙利語、旁遮普語、西班牙語、意大利語，以至俄羅斯、越南等語言，其中以中文廣播時段為主。覆蓋範圍遠至東面Chilliwack、南至 Victoria、西至 Nanaimo、北至 Squamish。 根據加拿大人口普查顯示，大溫地區有接近五份一人口為華裔，為了配合這個龐大的市場需要，以及順應過去幾十年人口結構的變化，加拿大中文電台1993年率先在AM1470頻道主要以粵語廣播；1997年成立FM96.1頻道，主力製作國語節目。加拿大中文電台亦通過手機應用程式及官方網站無間斷同步直播，讓全國以致全球聽眾都可以即時收聽本台節目，或重溫精彩內容。應用程式及網站更會持續更新本國及世界新聞時事，令聽眾隨時隨地能知天下事。

過去三十多年，加拿大中文電台一直被譽為加西最具影響力的中文電台，期間不斷引進首屈一指的先進科技，接通世界各地合作夥伴，相互交流。並積極製作多元化節目及大型活動，以資訊娛樂豐富了不同年齡層聽眾的加國生活，同時運用各種平台與新世代聽眾互動。

為應對近年市場急劇改變帶來的挑戰，加拿大中文電台於2026年更新FM96.1頻道牌照的營運，同時交還AM1470的牌照。由2026年3月起，FM96.1頻道以廣東話，國語和其他族裔語言聯播，每周提供超過100小時的中文廣播。

According to the Canadian census, nearly one-fifth of the population in the Greater Vancouver area is of Chinese descent. To meet the needs of this sizable market and adapt to demographic changes over the past several decades, Fairchild Radio launched AM1470 in 1993 with Cantonese programming as its main focus. In 1997, FM96.1 was established, producing primarily Mandarin programming. Fairchild Radio also offers uninterrupted simulcast streaming through our mobile app and official website, allowing listeners across Canada and around the world to tune in live or replay featured programs at any time. The app and website are continuously updated with national and international news and current affairs, enabling audiences to stay informed anytime, anywhere.

Over the past 30-plus years, Fairchild Radio has been widely recognized as the most influential Chinese-language radio station in Western Canada. During this time, we have continually introduced state-of-the-art technology, connected with partners around the world to promote international cultural exchange. The station has also actively produced a wide range of programs and special events, enriching the lives of listeners of all ages in Canada through both information and entertainment, while engaging younger audiences across multiple platforms.

In response to the rapid market changes and challenges in recent years, Fairchild Radio updated the operating license for FM96.1 in 2026 and revoked the license for AM1470. Starting in March 2026, FM96.1 broadcasts in Cantonese, Mandarin, and other ethnic languages, providing more than 100 hours of Chinese-language programming each week.

Radio Programs

加拿大中文電台擁有本地最強的廣播人材，新聞及節目主持陣容強勁，精心製作的節目題材新穎，形式多樣化，從新聞、時事性專題、音樂節目、清談雜誌式節目，以至財經、體育、文化藝術、廣播劇等亦無所不備，故成為大溫哥華最具規模、最受歡迎的中文媒體。加拿大中文電台亦積極推動跨國廣播機構同業間的合作、聯繫和交流，每天轉播中國、台灣、香港新聞，讓加國華人第一時間得悉兩岸三地政經時情; 同時舉辦地區性的專題廣播如「上海廣播週」、「日本旅遊特輯」和「台灣旅遊特輯」等，為文化橋樑擔演重要角色。而本台每年所主辦的各類型選秀節目亦培養出大量加國演藝精英，在娛樂圈不同領域大放異彩。

Fairchild Radio is home to the strongest local broadcast talent, with a robust lineup of news professionals and program hosts. We produce programs featuring innovative topics and diverse formats, ranging from news and current-affairs specials to music programs and magazine–style shows, as well as finance, sports, culture and arts, radio dramas, and more. Fairchild Radio is highly regarded as the largest and most popular Chinese-language media outlet in the Greater Vancouver area.

Fairchild Radio also actively promotes cooperation, connectivity, and exchange among broadcasting organizations across borders. We broadcast the most updated news from Mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong on a daily basis, enabling the Chinese community in Canada to stay informed in real time about political and economic developments in Asia. In addition, we have created regional-themed specials such as Shanghai Broadcasting Week, Japan Travelogue, and Taiwan Travelogue, playing an important role as a cultural bridge.

Furthermore, the wide range of talent quests and competitions organized annually by Fairchild Radio has nurtured a large number of Canadian performing arts talents, many of whom have gone on to shine in various sectors of the entertainment industry.

Charity Events

加拿大中文電台緊貼世界脈搏，2005 年為南亞海嘯災民籌得 72 萬加元善款。2008 年和 2020 年，電台聯同集團旗下各機構，再次發起全國籌款日，分別於「眾志成城抗震救災大行動」為中國四川災民籌得近 240 萬加元善款，和於「齊心會更美抗疫全國籌款日」為加拿大紅十字會籌得加幣 50 萬元為受新冠疫情威脅的地區購買防疫物資。 對於溫哥華本地社群，加拿大中文電台亦全力支持，例如舉辦為加拿大救世軍籌募舊衣物的「寒衣送暖流」，並為其他慈善團體籌募經費，包括中僑基金會、加拿大防癌協會、BC 省兒童醫院、奧比斯眼科飛行醫院、加拿大乳癌基金會、愛護動物協會、自閉症關注協會等。

Fairchild Radio maintains close contact with our communities and provides support whenever possible. In May 2008 and February 2020, Fairchild Radio launched nationwide campaigns with other members of Fairchild Media Group and raised close to 2.4 million dollars for the victims of the Sichuan earthquake and 0.5 million dollars for Canadian Red Cross to fund the purchase of protective equipment and medical supplies to contain the Coronavirus outbreak, treat patients, and protect frontline workers respectively.

Other charitable events that we support include the Salvation Army Winter Warm Wave, the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Walk with the Dragon, the Canadian Cancer Society Radiothon, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Charity Sale, the Orbis Plane Pull, the BCSPCA and the Autism Speaks Canada.

Functions and Shows

加拿大中文電台不遺餘力推動多元文化、發掘加拿大音樂人才及培訓本地廣播專才。每年舉辦的「加拿大中文歌曲創作大賽」成功推動本地音樂創作風氣，不少參賽者已回中港台發展，而這歌曲創作比賽亦曾多次高踞加拿大廣播人協會「金絲帶大獎之致力發掘加國人才」獎項三甲。加拿大中文電台亦曾推出多張CD專集，收錄不同語言的本地原創作品。至於「FM96.1世界音樂巡禮」及其後推出的紀念 CD 亦曾奪得「金絲帶大獎之致力發掘加國人才」的冠軍，成績有目共睹。

2010 年加拿大中文電台聯同全球 6 大華語電台共同發起「全球流行音樂金榜」，成為亞洲樂壇另一新指標。2021 年，此項目改版升級，易名為「全金音樂聯盟 Global Hits」，加拿大中文電台聯同台灣、馬來西亞和新加坡頂尖華語電台，每週專業推介最新和最有話題性的華語歌曲。

2013 年，電台慶祝啟播20周年，推出一系列大型慶典，包括於 5 月舉行的「第三屆全球流行音樂金榜北美慶功演唱會」，多位天王巨星包括台灣和大陸的實力偶像蔡依林、潘瑋柏、炎亞綸、胡夏、郁可唯、徐佳瑩等專程前來溫哥華獻唱，促進東西文化交流。

2016 年，「加拿大中文歌曲創作大賽」踏入 20 周年，特別舉辦「SQ 20 周年盛世音樂會」。香港唱作歌手黃耀明、林一峰、林二汶和 RubberBand，爆發原創音樂力量，「SQ 20 周年盛世音樂會」被本地音樂人和樂迷喻為「最好看的拉闊 band show」之一。

2020 年，香港最受歡迎樂隊之一的 Supper Moment 來到溫哥華舉行他們加拿大第一場演唱會《Supper Moment Live in Vancouver》，4 位成員落力演出，震撼會場。

以廣播製作、主持為培訓重點的「後浪DJ訓練班」及「新聞廣播訓練班」，多年來成功培育多位獨當一面的廣播人，「Sunshine Nation」、「Little Sunshine」及「小小 DJ 訓練學院」，得獎者均會代表電台參與各類慈善及社區活動，其中多位更在亞洲演藝圈發熱發亮，包括飛輪海的辰亦儒（2004年Sunshine Boyz 冠軍）、《山楂樹之戀》的竇驍（2007 年 Sunshine Nation 冠軍）、台灣歌手張韶涵、「SpeXial」的馬振桓、湖南衛視節目主持王思思、香港獲獎導演鄭思杰以及新一代搞笑綜藝女王麥美恩等。
