The 13th Canadian Chinese Song-Writers Quest brought together rising local talent with well-known Hong Kong song-writing, singing and acting personalities.

This year all the proceeds from the tickets sold for the SQ13 finale at Michael J. Fox theatre on May 31st were donated directly to the Red Cross for aid to Szechuan earthquake relief.

South African recording artist Mapumba came to Vancouver to promote the latest compilation CD's from Putumayo, "African Party" and "African Dreamland" being released in celebration of Putumayo's 15th Anniversary.

Mapumba spoke with DJ KMG from La Palabre heard on 96.1FM every Saturday at 11am about his musical journey from the Congo to becoming and international recording artist.
